BAMBOO
the school year has officially begun. yay. i was practically dead the first lesson having just come back from the states. well, with the new school year comes a new teacher that i have to teach with since my supervisor isn't around anymore due to her illness. in comes mrs. takemori.
she's cheerful, super happy...a real go getter. she's got a whole lot of enthusiasm to teach and speak in english. so much so that she said with a huge grin, "please call me bamboo!" she likes it when people call her bamboo cuz her last name means bamboo forest. i refuse. i refuse to call this woman bamboo in front of my students.
anyhow, it turns out that bamboo is pretty damn retarded when it comes to teaching english. the first thing she asks me is, "shall you speak and i just translate for you in class?" WHAT THE FUCK?! in ALT speak, we call this being the "taperecorder." oh, hell no. i'm proud of the fact that i teach one of the few lessons in the prefecture ALL IN ENGLISH. fuck that noise....
okay okay...so, i need to give this lady a chance. well, last friday, i had the worst lesson since my arrival to japan EVER. the class was absolutely horrible. those little fucks....they get worse every year, i tell you. this is class 1A. this class is way worse than any of my bad classes i had last year. "wakannai yo" "eigo de yue yo" translation: i don't get it. speak in english. this is what i had to put up with on friday for 50 minutes. i was pretty damn close to walking out of that class since retarded bamboo had absolutely no class control. instead, i put on the most plastic smile ever and just endured it. pure torture.
on the brighter side.....a much needed vacation is coming up! grace, jenni, and i will be on a plane heading to vietnam in two days. god.....i need this vacation badly.
