the results...
april 5th- left japan to san jose. arrived 10am april 5th
- spend time with mom and nephew. took a nap for 2 hours.
- 8pm-10pm. kendo practice.
april 8th- flight to new jersey from san francisco at 11:15am.
- arrive at 9pm-ish (eastern standard time)
- finally left airport around 10:30 ish. drama with the rental car.
- dinner around 11:30. get to sleep by 1.
april 9th - woke up at 7 to have breakfast at 7:30. keep in mind....it's 4am in cali.
- decided to go nyc to get our minds off the stress of tryouts.
- got lost on subways. missed practice. got back around 6 ish. sleep at 11.
april 10th - woke up at 6. breakfast at 7. at gym by 7:15-20. registration 8am.
- 2nd round eliminations begins sometime after 8.
- eliminations ends early around 2-3. our flight back to san francisco close to 6pm.
- arrived at SFO at 10pm (pacific standard time). get home around 11:20-30ishpm.
- slept around 1:30ish after showering and packing.
april 11th - woke up around 9am. left around 10:30am for san jose international airport.
- 12:30pm flight to Narita. 6:15 flight from Narita to Nagoya.
- arrived back at my apartment on april 12th at 10:15pm.
total number of hours flown= around 32 hours, give or take.
number of time zones = 3
number of days = 6
it was worth it because i advanced on to the final eliminations for the US women's kendo team in los angeles in january of 2006. will i make it this time? i don't care. considering my circumstances, i'm just happy i made it this far.
young guns better watch out cuz this oldie is going to train for the sole purpose to kick some ass.
