i want to win
good god it's been a minute.
i havn't heard from my three readers in a bit. but, i wanted to congratulate eva on running all 26.2 miles of a marathon. is that not fucking nuts?! straight up torturous. wow....i really really respect you for challenging yourself like that. after this whole kendo shit is done, i think that would be a good goal to try to accomplish.
update aka shannon's bragging time: i am officially the captain for the next national women's kendo team. TEAM USA!!! i'm going to fucking brazil and taking my team to the fucking top. this is my 4th (and last, i promise) world championship tournament. i am also the captain of the regional team (northern california kendo federation) for the upcoming national tournament which will take place in vegas the 4th of july weekend.
i'm riding a wave right now. i'm playing very well. i feel like i've awakened the monster within me. when i scream, i put my whole heart and soul into it. each hit has that much conviction from me. i want to win nationals badly. i've never really felt it was possible until now. all i do is sing the hook from kanye's "champion" over and over again to pump myself up.
if i can envision it, i can make it a reality.
if i don't believe, how can i convince my team and lead them to victory? how do i inspire these girls (both teams....US and regional). this is going to be a LONG year...
almost 10 years ago, i participated in my 1st world championships. back then, i NEVER imagined that i'd be the captain and going to my 4th tournament. wow....
i will accept whatever the outcome...just gotta leave everything on the court. but, i need to believe that i can make it happen.
what would make me feel better is knowing that others believe in me as well.

I believe in you too!! I am so jealous you are going to Brasil! Yay! What city. Ha I would love for some of those crazy Brasilians to try and mess with you guys! If there is anyone who WON'T be getting mugged in the streets of Rio it'll be you guys! If you need any 411 on Brasil let me know.
