a year ago on this day, my life ended in japan and began again here at home.

i came home with a broken heart and chaos in my head.
the only goal i have accomplished is making the national team.

only three more months to go. 10 months to train, all for 2 matches that are 3 minutes each in the individual round, which will determine if i advance onto the first round. 10 months for 2 matches that are 3 minutes each in the team round which will determine if we advance onto the first round. i don't even know what division i'm playing in. so, basically, i can be training for 10 months, only to play in one division. 10 MONTHS OF HELL FOR 6 MINUTES.

have i grown much? have things changed?

no, not really. not much has changed.

fabulous.

Changes happen slowly. They are often subtle and we never notice them until we are met with something/someone from our past and a lot of times, only then do we realize how different we are now from how we were then. Cheer up Shannon, life is full of craziness.

By the way, I wish I could see you play kendo. Are people allowed to come and watch?

I once watched Rei in a kendo match. It was as one person eloquently put it, "like watching an immovable object meet an unstoppable force", the universe was no longer a grape after she was done with her opponent in some quantum physical way.

Yes, she is quite awesome at kendo.
