i am depressed

yesterday, my sister took my cat, takeru, to the vet because she said he was acting lethargic and having problems breathing.

turned out he had fluids in his lungs caused by a massive tumor in his chest cavity.

further tests showed that the tumor occurred because he has lymphoma, and feline leukemia. the vet said he was most likely born with it.

because he has feline leukemia, chemo would only prolong his life for a couple of months. without treatment, he only has a couple of weeks to a month left.

i am absolutely devastated. this is my best friend. during my loneliest times in japan, he was the only one there. i always said i didn't have a boyfriend, but i had my baby boy, takeru. he'd wait for me anxiously to come home. i'd honestly talk to him. we'd eat dinner together. we'd watch tv together. we slept together. i'd always come home early from nights out, knowing that i had my baby at home alone. i always had to find a cat sitter for him on my trips. i always left music on for him so he wouldn't be lonely. i was so lonely in japan after i brought him home in april. he was my living souvenir from japan....proof of all the hardships i endured. he's my best friend. he's my baby.

i havn't decided the day yet when to put him to sleep, but it will probably be very soon. i have decided that i will have him cremated, and bring his ashes back with me to japan when i go back next december after the world championships. i'll bring him back to his homeland...

kendo is frustrating me, i am disappointed by people, and now my baby boy is dying.

i'm hating life, and probably you at the moment. (not my three faithful readers)

i am so sad.

i'm so sad to hear about your kitty. it is hard to lose a loved one. just tonight i went to my friend's brother's funeral. it was heartbreaking to see his mother. i can understand how you feel. may takeru rest in peace.

Oh Shannon, I'm so sorry to hear about Takeru. You've been a wonderful mother and because of you, he's had a great life as well. Even though his life will be cut short, he is still a super-lucky cat who was rescued from abandonment by you. Hold on to the good memories.

awww I'm so sorry Shan. Just think about all the good things that he brought to your life. You guys helped each other out when you both needed it most.

Be strong. Take your frustrations out on you sparring partner.
