the ring
i've realized something....something very frightening. my age and the stage of life that i'm in. let me explain.
my friend lyndsey so kindly mailed me a package full of dvds. receiving that in the mail was equivalent to finding gold in my mailbox. eureka. in the package, amongst many of my new treasures, was the box set of arrested development's first season. awesome.
so, in one episode, the main character, jason bateman's character, goes to the parent teacher conference at his son's school. he didn't expect for his son's teacher to be attractive. when he saw her, the first thing he said was, "no ring."
now....at the kendo tournament last weekend, there were two HOT guys. one of them was on the same team as me in the team division. he had a great smile. after i looked at his face, i instinctively looked down to his left ring finger. "no ring."
fuck me, i'm getting old.

unfortunately the absence of the ring doesn't mean much anymore... there are also people who WOULD wear a ring just so it's easier to chat women up, cos they tend to lower their guard some...
ha ha, can't remember the last time i have done that but it is quite often in Newport Beach, MILFS are everywhere
You know, I instinctively look at the ring finger too. Though I don't think its an age thing, I just like fine jewelry design.
