a girl i went to jr college with is in the entertainment industry now. crazy. she's one of the judges on the tlc show miss america reality check.
i need help. i've been trying for awhile now to get off the scientologists mailing and calling list. those people have not left me alone for 10 years. 10 YEARS!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!
i made the mistake of taking a course when I was 18-19 because of my friend who used to work there. i got weirded out and never finished the course. they have been stalking me for ten years. AND, they've become more clever....
they figured out that we don't pick up our house phone because it says that they're the church of scientology. SO, they started calling from a private number. WHAT THE FUCK???!!! once they got me at fucking 9:30pm on a friday night from a private number. WHAT KIND OF FUCKING CHURCH CALLS PEOPLE AT 9:30PM???!!!
so, the lady got me on the phone. i asked her politely to take me off the calling and mailing list. she kept deflecting my requests and finally our conversation ended with, "i'll resend you our dvd and see what you think about it, okay?"
i need help. can i threaten legal action? not that i would...but, would that finally get them to leave me alone? honestly, i get at least 1-5 pieces of mail from them EVERY GODDAMN DAY. they're killing trees.

you might be able to sue for harassment. You should check out the laws for the "Do Not Call" list and see whether or not they've violated it.
Legally they have to remove you from a direct mail campaign whether its email or phone once you request the removal.
The next time they call, I would ask for their full name, their manager's name, their address, email and phone number so you can take legal action. If they don't give it to you, hang up. Just use that at the beginning of the conversation and see what happens. -YC
