i love my kids....
last week, i had a conversation with my kids. i love snack time cuz we get to sit like a family and just chat. i ask them all kinds of stuff. that particular day, i asked them what age they would like to stay forever. of course, most of them replied that they would like to stay as babies. i asked them if anyone wanted to be teenagers, and everyone replied no. then, i replied that it's no fun to be an adult. this is what erin said. she's 5.
me: i don't want to be a grown up. it's not that fun.
erin: yeah...cuz then you have to yell a lot.
me: hahaha...well, not really that. it's just that there's a lot more to worry about.
erin: you mean, like rats?
i love her. she has the most beautiful blue eyes that i could get lost in.
next, napua is the little girl that told me her mom threw a plate at her daddy before. she doesn't come from the healthiest background, but her grandparents give her a lot of love.
during lunch time, she told us this:
napua: my mommy and daddy have been to jail before! (her facial expression and attitude is one of "can you believe it" type if you can visualize as she is saying this. she's quite mature for her age)
me: whoa....when was this?
napua: i dunno. before i was born.
me: oh....well, don't worry about it, sweetheart. things happen. (riiiiiiiiight)
and charlotte once again talked about her parent's divorce. when i get married, i vow never to let this happen to my family. i know her parent's do their best to keep a happy childhood for their daughter. but, it's obvious that she's much more observant and affected by it then they realize. jody, the teacher i work with, was having a picnic type thing on a sunday for the kindergarteners who moved on to different schools....kinda like a reunion type thing.
jody: charlotte, is your mommy gonna come to the party?
charlotte: no, just my dad.
jody: oh, okay.
charlotte: they can't stand to be even around each other.
(keep in mind that charlotte is only 5 years old)
shannon: ooooooh. charlotte, don't worry. it might take some time, but i'm sure they'll be friends again someday. '
aaaaaaaand, on a happier note, omer told me he'd look for a husband for me when we go to the playground. he's so sweet.

Kids ARE way smarter and more observant than we give them credit for. I'm scared of having kids and messing them up for good. But that's a gamble we all have to take, eh?
Hope you're doing well Shan! Merry early Xmas!
i keep saying this but we NEED to skype, girl! merry xmas to you too! i can't WAIT to hear what you've been up to!
