the way to my heart....home baked goods. mmmmmmmmm...i just CANNOT say no to a delicious, moist, chewy, rich, and chocolatey brownie. mmmmmmm...i think i had 5 yesterday at my nephew's birthday party.
i love the abundance of comments i get on my blog. no more gold stars handed out.
sometimes, when i get a call on my cell phone, i look first to see who is calling and just press either the "ignore" button or the volume down button. i realize i do this for all phone calls except for a few select ones from family and certain friends. what is the point of me having a cell phone if i never pick up or never take it with me? (i'm famous for not having my cell phone on me) i called a person who i don't talk to often and wasn't surprised that he didn't pick up yet AGAIN. karma....he's see's my number and won't pick up. DAMN IT!!! DAMN YOU, CALLER ID!!! note to self: get rid of cell phone. i don't need it.
at my nephew's second birthday party, most of the guests were adults...either pregnant or with children. the pregnant women were sitting down together like beached whales in the heat, and the mothers were running around after their kids. talking to some of the mothers of toddlers, i realized they never can have their full attention on the conversation. one eye is looking at you, and the other eye is frantically looking around to make sure that their toddler is not picking up food off of the ground and eating it or running into tables. this one little boy was picking up anything and everything off of the ground and shoving it into his mouth. others were just not knowing what they were eating. "no honey, you eat the red part of the watermelon, not the green part. the green part is yucky." he didn't seem to care. nice. this is the life of a mother.....fun fun fun awaits!
here are some pics from the day.

always fun to blow out the candles!

my gorgeous sister and my nephew. he's SUCH a mama's boy...

here he is, dancing to The Wiggles (an australian version of the beatles for little kids) and enjoying his birthday gift from me...musical instruments which included a drum! his parents love me for that one...

here is is, jammin' on the drums! that's my nephew....

kailan insisted on putting sunglasses on and posing next to cary, my bro-in law's brother.

meet lelu, the newest edition to our family. takeru will always be in my heart, but i have plenty of love to spare.
she's got white gloves and socks!

and, here's me with lior and her brother idan. lior just graduated, and i had her brother, idan, when he was 3 years old. my how time flies... i just watched memoirs of a geisha lately. the book was fun. the movie....beautiful in terms of the cinematography. i didn't mind so much the fact that they used chinese women to portray geishas (the epitome of beauty in the japanese culture), but, what's up with the way they all spoke english? even some of the asian american actors that DON'T speak that way were speaking english like they just got off the boat/plane. that shit was gay. they all spoke like mr. miyagi in karate kid. shit ain't fresh. shit is gay.
the beautiful portrayal of japan's culture made me want to go back and appreciate it once again....until i remembered the times that it sucked ass.

and this concludes another couple of weeks in my boring life.
at least the parts i choose to share... ;)
